Performance Transformer Products (PTP) is a division owned by Cindus Corporation in Cincinnati, Ohio that extends our commitment to the Transformer market beyond creped insulation products.
PTP offers Creped paper wrapped cable products #12 thru 1000mcm in convolute cut to size or spiral wrapped with ThermofleX and continuously spooled, POLICABLE. Convolute or Spiral wrapped POLICABLE cable can be made available in Kits with Terminal Lugs per specific design for primary and secondary lead wire.
POLICABLE is also used extensively as bushing leads. Terminal Lugs can be purchased separately #12 thru 1000mcm. Crepe paper tubing is also available in 3/16″-4″ ID and 1/32″ wall to 1/4″ wall x 6ft lengths.
Specialized products are also available in fabricated core ducting for power transformers made from polyester sticks and sheeting, and special order machined connectors. PTP also distributes master roll, slit rolls, and sheets of Cindus Insulstretch and ThermofleX insulation product lines.
ThermofleX, available in spiral wrapped and spooled put ups #2 wire to 1000mcm. The benefits of ThermofleX are represented in the attached comparison to the currently preferred insulation, 2-35H. Dielectric strength in oil is 60% improved. Partial Discharge of 8KV is a 3 fold improvement. Both are highlighted.
Improved insulation characteristics are due to ThermofleX capacity to absorb greater amounts of the insulation oils. The fiber compaction of the X-creping process provides a doubling of cellulose density within the same mil thickness and subsequent wall build. This provides a similar insulation strength at half the wall thickness, or an improved electrical strength at the same wall build for longer life and greater protection.
ThermofleX is a true all directional flexible insulation providing 30% elongation in all directions. The competing products are not true all directional or two way stretch insulation. They provide only minimal lateral stretch and offer much less performance in the assembly process.
The all directional stretch of ThermofleX provides superior bending allow ThermofleX wrapped cable to conform to very tight radius bend requirements. The cable length savings on larger MCM cable is tremendous.
